Mental Health Technician – Residential

Mental Health Technicians monitor and assist clients in the Center’s residential programs. Under supervision, Mental Health Technicians perform a variety of duties in delivering quality care to Center clients.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or G.E.D. with valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Must be certifiable or certified in CPR and be able to make decisions in an emergency situation. Certified Nursing Assistant credentials are preferred.

Medical Assistant

This position is Medical Services staff position reporting to the Nurse Manager. This person is responsible for providing supervised health services, record keeping for compliance with third-party payers, and client assistance as directed by the Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

Must have graduated from a two-year clinical program. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with an Associate’s Degree and at least two year’s experience in a medical office setting is preferred.

Peer Recovery Specialist

The Peer Recovery Specialist is an active member of the Passages Program and/or Outpatient Therapy Program and supports clients with addiction and/or serious mental illness. Working under program supervision, they provide peer support, serve as a role model in recovery, and help clients develop coping skills, access resources, and maintain progress in their recovery. The role focuses on empowering individuals of all ages to gain independence in the community and strengthen their recovery.

Qualifications

Candidates must have lived experience receiving mental health or substance use treatment and be in recovery for at least one year. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and Certified Peer Support Specialist status is preferred. Candidates should have strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, experience working with diverse populations and multidisciplinary teams, and a commitment to public health approaches, community collaboration, and client empowerment.

Customer Service Representative – Float

Performs a variety of routine clerical duties related to answering phones, enrolling clients, collection of demographic information, collecting payments, assisting staff and clients and other duties pertinent to the operation of a major program at both Michigan City and LaPorte locations.

Qualifications

Minimum high school education required and one year additional education/experience desired. Must be knowledgeable of general office procedures, recent call center experience, proficient computer skills, appointment scheduling for multiple providers and have standard office equipment skills. Must have a congenial personality and communicate well. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Access Center Intake Specialist

As a member of the Access Center team in Michigan City and LaPorte, Intake Specialists perform initial intakes for clients served in the Access Center. By virtue of their credentials, they also remain capable of performing treatment and discharge planning; individual, group, and family therapy; follow-up activities; and an array of other tasks within the scope of recognized treatment modalities.

Qualifications

Must possess a Master of Social Work degree or any other degree that meet the standards for Indiana licensure as a clinical social worker or mental health counselor.  An Indiana LCSW or LMHC is strongly preferred.  Must possess a good driving record, valid driver’s license, and a registered four-wheeled vehicle.

Children & Family/Home Community-Based Case Manager

As a member of a multidisciplinary team, C&F Community/Homed-Based Therapists perform key client services such as client intakes; treatment and discharge planning; individual, group, and family therapy; follow-up activities; and an array of other tasks within the scope of recognized treatment modalities.

Qualifications

Must possess a Master of Social Work degree or any other degree that meet the standards for Indiana licensure as a clinical social worker or mental health counselor.  An Indiana LCSW or LMHC is strongly preferred.  Must possess a good driving record, valid driver’s license, and a registered four-wheeled vehicle.

Case Manager

Case Managers perform a variety of clinical tasks such as conducting client intakes, participating in treatment and discharge planning, executing treatment plans, performing individual and group services, and ensuring that clients receive necessary follow-up care and assistance.

We currently have positions available within these departments: Addictions, Adults, Child & Adolescence, Families, and Mobile Crisis.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Addictionology, or a health related field with at least two years of post-degree experience working in behavioral health. Prior service in a community mental health center is preferred. Must possess a good driving record, valid driver’s license, and a registered vehicle.
